You have rights as a sexual assault victim! You do not have to go through this traumatic time alone. It is YOUR right to request an advocate from your local Rape Crisis Program (Haven 352-787-1379) to accompany you for a forensic exam, victim interview with Law Enforcement, State Attorney Office, etc.
This advocate holds a privilege status that you may claim that keeps any conversation with them 100% confidential. This advocate is able to help you through these steps, assist with filing for other benefits, help make follow up contacts., and get you connected with the proper follow up care; healthcare visits and counseling.
Haven provides these advocates 24 hours a day. We have a 24 hr crisis line that you can speak to a live person and get support or request the advocate. Our advocates will be there to make sure that you know your rights!!
